South Padre Island Sea Turtle Rescue Efforts

The people at Sea Turtle, Inc. have really stepped up their efforts to save many sea turtles after Huricane Dolly hit. They were already putting much hard work to get these turtles back to the populations they once were. They travel seas to try to save endangered sea turtles. They are for sure very passionate about their work. They try to make sure that the survival of all species of sea turtles. they provide a lot of research, education and rehabilitation of these turtles. It is a not for profit organization. They work on minimal salaries and have many volunteers. Many volunteers meet on a daily basis with those who want to help out in saving turtles. They offer many programs to adopt a turtle.

The Kemp Ridley's turtles are the most precious ones and need to be saved. The hurricane nearly wiped them out, but there were a few that did survive so many programs are trying to help out. Their eggs were collected from the shore to make sure that they could be saved as a species. These eggs hatched and were saved. The baby turtles are saved and released in the sand for them to get to the sea. The huricane actually made it easier for the surviving turtles because the swirling waters have made it difficult for predators.
